Las Vegas is about to get even more wired. Coffee and Bar, a new mobile cart set to roll into the Las Vegas Valley this spring, will pour espresso by day and espresso cocktails by night, bringing a portable jolt to neighborhood events and private parties.
Owner and hospitality veteran Kalika Moquin plans to park the cart at First Fridays, farmers' markets and local ball games, with the setup also available for private bookings. On the menu: classic espresso martinis, carajillos and a "sparkplug" shot that turns an espresso martini into a quick-hit shooter, plus standard espresso drinks. The cart will pair Italian-roasted beans with a compact cocktail bar built for both events and street stops.
Moquin told What Now Las Vegas that Coffee and Bar is built around the slogan "All Coffee Everything" and the rhythm of "espresso by day, espresso cocktails by night." She described the sparkplug as "an espresso martini in shot form" and said the cart will also serve lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, hot cocoa and spiced lattes.
Menu and service
"The classic martini will be made exactly how an espresso martini should be served - fresh espresso, vanilla vodka and Kahlúa, garnished with three beans," Moquin told What Now Las Vegas. Daytime service will stick to a straightforward espresso lineup, while evenings lean into cocktails and event-friendly shots. The cart is also being marketed for weddings, private parties and other rentals.
Owner's background
Moquin traces Las Vegas' espresso-martini streak back to early 2000s hot spots like the Palms' N9NE Steakhouse and says her time in those rooms helped shape Coffee and Bar's concept. Her longer career creating nightlife and marketing concepts in the city is laid out in a 2023 interview on the ROAD PODCAST. That experience, she says, led her to design a cart that can shift from daytime coffee crowds to late-night events without missing a beat.
Coffee and craft
Moquin told What Now Las Vegas she plans to use Italian-roasted Bristot beans for the cart. Caffè Bristot describes itself as a century-plus-old Italian roastery whose blends draw from Latin America, Africa and Asia to create balanced espresso with plenty of crema. Using an Italian espresso base is intended to help the cart's cocktails hold their froth and body even once the spirits are added.
Where and how to book
Moquin says a brick-and-mortar shop is the long-term goal, but for now the focus is getting the cart into regular rotation at neighborhood events and private gigs around the valley. The mobile setup lets the operation chase both the morning coffee rush and the evening cocktail crowd without committing to a permanent storefront.
