Waukesha residents can share their opinions on the city’s livability through the 2026 National Community Survey (NCS), developed by the National Research Center at Polco. The survey, part of the city’s civic engagement initiative, covers key topics such as the economy, mobility, and inclusivity. More information is available on the city’s official website.
Randomly selected Waukesha households will receive invitations to participate in the NCS, sharing their insights on ten core aspects of community life. Each respondent is encouraged to complete the survey, as their input will help shape the city’s future. For those not selected, a broader community survey will be launched soon, with updates shared via social media and the city’s weekly newsletter.
Waukesha has previously used the NCS to gather community feedback. Reports from 2022 and 2024 are available, showing how the city’s priorities and challenges have evolved.
Polco, known for its award-winning community engagement tools, is leading this civic survey. Privacy is a cornerstone of the process, ensuring participants’ personal data is handled confidentially. Residents with questions can contact Rebecca Pederson, who is available to address any concerns.
Recognized by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), the National Community Survey boasts usage by over 500 local governments across the nation. It is critically designed to track changes, offer benchmark comparisons, and above all, deliver actionable insights that can be leveraged to nurture the welfare of residents and the development of the community as a whole.
