The Wisconsin Conservation Congress (WCC) is calling on all state residents to have their say in the stewardship of Wisconsin's natural resources. As per the announcement available on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website, the independent advisory body to the Wisconsin Natural Resources Board and the DNR is opening its doors for public input through the submission of resolutions ahead of the 2026 Spring Hearing.
Interested parties have until Monday, February 9, to submit their concerns for consideration. Each participant is limited to submitting no more than two resolutions, with the requirement that each proposal should resonate on a statewide scale, proving both practical and achievable, and align with the mission of the Congress. The guidelines for the resolutions can be reviewed on the linked DNR and WCC's Spring Hearings webpage.
Following the submission window, the proposed resolutions will undergo a review before being presented for communal consideration starting Monday, April 13. The process, accommodating both online and in-person opinions, extends through to Wednesday, April 15, offering a broad timeframe for Wisconsin’s denizens to cast their judgments on the fate of their environmental legacy, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Wisconsinites pride themselves on an emboldened spirit of thoughtful conservation—a legacy that weaves through the fabric of the state—and the WCC champions this ethos with platforms for democratic participation. For additional details on the resolution submission or the upcoming hearing, potential contributors may reach out to Paul Reith, the Vice-Chair of the Wisconsin Conservation Congress.
