
Two people are fighting for their lives after a pair of early-morning shootings in Charlotte today The gunfire erupted just minutes apart and roughly three miles away from each other, according to authorities and local reporters, with officers converging on two apartment complexes before dawn.
According to WSOC, the first call came in shortly after 1:15 a.m. from Villa Court in southeast Charlotte. Around 1:30 a.m., a second call reported another shooting on Central Avenue in east Charlotte. MEDIC crews took both victims to nearby hospitals, where each was reported to have life-threatening injuries.

According to WBTV, the Villa Court scene sits just off Wendover Road, while the second shooting unfolded about three miles away at an apartment complex on Central Avenue. WBTV also reported there was no immediate word on arrests as detectives at both locations collected evidence.
Police response and how to help
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police and MEDIC answered both calls and kept the scenes under active investigation, local outlets report. Authorities have not released the victims' names or any suspect descriptions while detectives follow up on leads.

The back-to-back shootings land in the middle of Charlotte's ongoing struggle with gunfire in residential areas.
