Residents of Baltimore can now breathe a sigh of relief as the State of Emergency declared in anticipation of severe winter weather has officially been lifted. In a press release by the Baltimore City Government, Mayor Brandon M. Scott declared the end of the emergency measure on Friday, signaling a return to normalcy after the weather conditions that swept through the city.
During the State of Emergency, the city had enacted Phase I of its Snow Emergency Plan to mitigate the potential havoc of the winter storm. No longer in effect, the resumption of everyday life in Baltimore signals a successful weathering of the storm for city officials and residents alike, issued on Friday, January 23.
Baltimore's 311 services remain a point of contact for residents with lingering winter weather concerns or reports of snow and ice issues. The city encourages the use of its provided resources and wants to remind residents that they can report concerns via phone, the 311 web page, or the BALT311 app directly tailored for these purposes.
