Reginald Irvin, 48, a convicted felon who previously served 15 years in federal prison for sex trafficking, was arrested in Bellevue on February 2 and is now back in King County jail. Prosecutors say he faces four domestic violence charges after allegedly injuring a woman and attacking her son before fleeing their home. Deputies tracked him to a fenced bus parking lot and took him into custody. He is being held on $150,000 bail, with a review hearing on Friday.
How deputies tracked and arrested him
According to FOX 13 Seattle, King County Sheriff’s K-9 Beau picked up Irvin’s scent after deputies were called in to assist Bellevue police with a wanted suspect. The dog led deputies from a neighborhood near 116th Place Southeast to a fenced bus parking lot at Southeast 58th Street and 119th Avenue Southeast. After multiple loudspeaker announcements, a deputy breached the locked gate and Irvin surrendered without incident. Court documents cited by the station say he is accused of injuring a woman and attacking her son.
Federal sentence and prior convictions
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Irvin pleaded guilty in October 2012 and was sentenced in 2013 to 15 years in federal prison for sex trafficking, in a case prosecutors said involved force and coercion of victims. The DOJ release states investigators found he used violent control over women who were forced to work as prostitutes and that he was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Charges, bail and next steps
King County prosecutors have charged Irvin with four domestic violence crimes, including assault and burglary, and he is being held on $150,000 bail, FOX 13 Seattle reports. He is scheduled for a review hearing on Friday, Feb. 20, and remains in custody while prosecutors prepare the case.
Local context
Bellevue has seen trafficking investigations in recent years, and some of those cases have reportedly opened after routine domestic violence calls led officers to uncover larger operations. Local reporting of a 2024 Bellevue case, for example, documented how officers uncovered a suspected trafficking network after responding to a domestic violence incident. KIRO 7 covered that 2024 investigation.
Anyone with information about Irvin or this incident is asked to contact the King County Sheriff’s Office or the Bellevue Police Department. Prosecutors provided the charges to local media, and law enforcement said the K-9 team and deputies carried out the arrest without further incident.
