
A man is dead after an early morning crash in northwest Harris County that investigators say involved gunfire before the wreck near Veterans Memorial Drive today.
Harris County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 3400 block of Pinechester Drive, near Veterans Memorial Drive and W. Greens Road, after a vehicle hit a parked car and then plowed into a garage. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said on X that deputies arrived to find a single-vehicle crash on Pinechester Drive and a car that appeared to have multiple bullet strikes, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office on X. The post states the male driver "appears to have sustained a gunshot wound" and was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

"CSI and homicide detectives are responding to the scene," the sheriff's office wrote on X, asking anyone who saw what led up to the incident to call 713-221-6000. Deputies kept the area near Veterans Memorial and W. Greens Road blocked off while investigators photographed the vehicle and collected evidence.
