A 19-year-old Clarksburg resident, Fabio Delrio, has found himself on the wrong side of the law after allegedly using his cell phone to record unsuspecting female customers at a local Banana Republic. According to the Montgomery County Police Department's press release, Delrio's clandestine activities spanned a period from May to August of last year at the store located on the 22000 block of Clarksburg Road.

Police began their probe into Delrio's activities on May 10 after a customer noted a cell phone lens peeking at her from beneath the confines of her dressing room. Subsequent victims, enduring the same violation of privacy, would come forward with similar stories, the last being on August 9, when a woman immediately contacted law enforcement upon noticing Delrio standing suspiciously outside her dressing room. Officers after responding to the scene and examining store surveillance, collared Delrio as their prime suspect.

In the course of their investigation, officials obtained a search warrant for Delrio's cell phone where they discovered photos of the three known victims and numerous unidentified others, casting wider net of Delrio's alleged violations of privacy. A fourth victim was identified from these images, having been photographed both while strolling through the store and within the dressing room's supposed sanctum on August 6. Delrio has now been charged with several counts of peeping tom activity and visual surveillance with prurient intent, as detailed by the same press release.

As of last Wednesday, Delrio has been arrested and processed, only to be released subsequently on a $5,000 unsecured personal bond. With concerns that there may yet be more unknown victims, investigators are calling on anyone who visited the Clarksburg Banana Republic store between May and August of 2025 to cast their mind back, consider their experiences, and if relevant, to reach out. They encourage potential victims or individuals with relevant information to contact the 4th District Investigative Section at (240) 773-5530 or submit a tip via the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County, MD's website.
