Residents of Clay County can expect a series of updates and road projects following the latest Board of County Commissioners meeting. The commissioners approved an updated county strategic plan that emphasizes health, safety, infrastructure, and overall quality of life. Recorded sessions of the meeting are available on the county’s website and Facebook page for those who missed the live broadcast.
Based on recommendations from a recent workshop, the commissioners established new measures for tracking the county’s progress. Safety improvements will be prioritized with an updated road project list, including key routes such as SR 16 and US 17. The full list of projects was included in the meeting agenda and discussed during the session.
In addition to road projects, the commission addressed routine business, including the acceptance of several resignations. Dobson from the Transportation Planning Organization’s Citizen Advisory Committee and two members of the Historic Preservation Board stepped down. Rita Peterson was appointed to represent District 5 on the board. Clay County encourages residents interested in civic service to submit applications, which are available on the county’s website.
Brandon Ludwig, formerly of the Keystone Heights City Council and a previous member of the Clay County Board of Adjustment, was appointed to Clay County’s municipal seat on the Northeast Florida Regional Council.
