Dr. Andrew Crawford is set to become the new Vice President of Enrollment Management at Cleveland State University (CSU), a decision that awaits the CSU Board of Trustees' approval during their next assembly. The university's current president, Dr. Laura Bloomberg, recently made the announcement, underlining Crawford's substantial tenure of over two decades in the realm of enrollment and his familiarity with the academic scene in Northeast Ohio.
In his soon-to-be-held post, Dr. Crawford will be taking the helm to steer student recruitment and financial aid, pillars integral to CSU's operations. Pending the endorsement by the board, he will be joining from Kent State University, where he is the Associate Vice President in the Division of Enrollment Management, his expertise illuminated during a national search in 2024. As reported by CSU's news release, Dr. Bloomberg expressed her enthusiasm about Crawford's arrival at CSU and praised his dedication to student success and the cultivation of community partnerships.
Before his upcoming CSU stint, Crawford has been associated with a variety of academic institutions, including Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C), The Ohio State University, and Ohio University. A Doctor of Education from Ferris State University, he also brings to the table credentials from Harvard University's Institute for Management and Leadership Education.
In a statement reflecting on his appointment, Dr. Andrew Crawford remarked on the trajectory of CSU, noting, "I have closely followed CSU over the past several years, watching as the University focuses in on its mission to serve as an educational and community resource for the city of Cleveland, Northeast Ohio and beyond," emphasizing his eagerness to be a part of the enrollment management team. Dr. Nigamanth Sridhar, currently the executive vice president and provost, is acting as the interim leader for the Division of Enrollment Management until Crawford assumes his new role in March, according to CSU's news release.
