
A late-night argument inside an East Village shop turned ugly on Monday when a 68-year-old employee was hit in the face with a gallon of water, police say.
The dispute broke out around 10 p.m. inside a commercial business on Avenue B. During the clash, an unidentified man allegedly swung the gallon of water and struck the worker, leaving him with pain, redness and swelling. The assailant then took off on foot, heading north along Avenue B.
According to NYPD Crime Stoppers, the man walked into the store, hit the 68-year-old employee and bolted. Police are offering a reward of up to $3,500 for information that helps track him down and are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect to step forward.

The NYPD alert, posted as “WANTED for an ASSAULT,” includes a clear image of the suspect and states that he ran off northbound on Avenue B after striking the worker, according to NYPD Crime Stoppers. The notice also stresses that all calls and tips are handled in strict confidence.

Police are urging nearby residents and business owners to check security and doorbell cameras for footage from around 10 p.m. Monday, especially along Avenue B. Anyone who spots someone matching the photo or description in the alert is asked to contact Crime Stoppers by phone or online, and tips may qualify for the reward, according to police.
