Berlin Bar, a beer-and-brats hangout in Las Vegas’ Arts District, is facing a court-ordered eviction after its landlord moved to evict the business in late January. The owners are asking a justice court judge to pause the eviction while their legal fight with the landlord continues.
Court filings and timeline
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, landlord 201 Charleston LLC filed a complaint for summary eviction on Jan. 21, 2026, and a summary-eviction order was transmitted to the constable on Jan. 26. Owners Michael and Ashley Hoff responded by filing a motion last Thursday to set that order aside, and court papers show an eviction notice dated the same day was posted on the bar's door.
Local staple, sudden closure
Berlin opened in 2020 at 201 E. Charleston Blvd. and describes itself as a European-style beer bar with regular live music and punk-focused nights, according to Berlin Bar. The site lists the Arts District address, menus and recurring events that have helped turn the spot into a neighborhood draw.
How tenants can respond in court
Nevada's justice-court rules allow a tenant or respondent to ask a judge to set aside or stay a summary eviction for reasons such as mistake, inadvertence, excusable neglect, fraud or misrepresentation. Those motions have to be filed promptly, and judges have broad discretion in deciding them. The standards are laid out in the Justice Court Rules of Civil Procedure and in local self-help materials.
County programs and record sealing
Clark County expanded an Eviction Diversion Program earlier this month to connect people facing eviction with rental-assistance and legal help, a shift that could affect how quickly cases move and whether tenants find alternatives to displacement. Nevada's 2017 Nevada Legislature measure known as AB 107 also set rules for sealing certain summary-eviction court files under specified conditions, which can limit long-term rental-screening consequences.
The Hoffs' motion is now pending, and the justice court will decide whether to vacate or delay the eviction. If the motion fails, the constable may be authorized to enforce removal. The bar could not be immediately reached for comment on the filings, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and the upcoming court dates will determine whether Berlin remains part of the Arts District nightlife roster.
