Federal agents are searching for a Baltimore man accused of an unprovoked stabbing at a house party last November that left a guest critically injured and rushed into surgery. Investigators and federal fugitive teams say the attack could easily have been deadly and are asking the public for help tracking the suspect down.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 30-year-old Ricardo Antonio Calix Mejia. He is wanted on charges that include first-degree attempted murder, second-degree attempted murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, according to FOX45 News.

The alleged stabbing happened inside a home in the 3400 block of Esther Place in the Baltimore Highlands community on Nov. 15, 2025, charging documents show. Officers were called to Johns Hopkins Hospital after a man walked in with multiple stab wounds and was rushed into surgery. In those documents, a witness described the attack as “an unprovoked stabbing,” according to FOX45 News.

What investigators say

Charging documents describe the two men as sitting in the living room when one of them stood up, walked into the kitchen, and then stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene. Police say they later used a Motor Vehicle Administration photo to confirm Mejia’s identity and that a warrant has been issued. Investigators say he has been on the run for about three months.

How to help

Per the U.S. Marshals Service, anyone with information about Mejia’s whereabouts should call 202-819-5058. Tips can also be relayed to local police or submitted anonymously through the Marshals’ tip channels.

Federal fugitive operations in Baltimore

The U.S. Marshals Service this month highlighted coordinated enforcement activity in Baltimore that resulted in hundreds of fugitive arrests, underscoring the multi-agency task-force work marshals bring to local hunts.

Neighbors in the Baltimore Highlands neighborhood say the case has left residents shaken, and detectives say they are following multiple leads. Officials emphasize that suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty as the search continues.
