Firehouse Subs is gearing up for a Longmont comeback, with a new shop planned for 15 Ken Pratt Blvd #110 in the Harvest Junction shopping plaza. The location is listed under franchisee Scott Highland, and while there is still no grand-opening date on the books, residents along the Ken Pratt corridor can count on another sandwich stop once the buildout wraps.
Details on the lease and a food-plan review surfaced in a report from What Now, which notes that the Harvest Junction space would be the brand's first active Longmont location and identifies Highland as the owner. The outlet also reports that the franchise has not yet committed to an opening date.
Firehouse Subs traces its roots to 1994 in Jacksonville, where brothers and former firefighters Chris and Robin Sorensen started the concept, according to Firehouse Subs. The sandwich chain later joined the Restaurant Brands International portfolio in 2021, per a corporate announcement from RBI.
Industry coverage has pegged Firehouse Subs' footprint at roughly 1,200-plus locations across the United States and Canada, positioning it firmly in the national fast-casual sandwich pack. That scale was highlighted when Restaurant Brands International bought the chain, as reported by the Jax Daily Record.
Where it will live
The planned Firehouse Subs is slated for space inside Harvest Junction, a neighborhood-focused retail center lining Ken Pratt Boulevard. Commercial listings place the Harvest Junction pads at 205–210 Ken Pratt Blvd., just a short drive from downtown Longmont, according to LoopNet.
Longmont context
Business directories and mapping tools still show a former Firehouse Subs at 2343 Clover Basin Drive marked as “permanently closed,” which would make the Harvest Junction lease a return run for the brand in Longmont rather than a true debut. That closure status is visible in local mapping listings, including MapQuest.
Public safety tie
Firehouse Subs often leans into its firefighter roots through the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which the company says has awarded more than $102 million in grants to first-responder agencies across the United States. The foundation and its community grant programs are a recurring part of the pitch to prospective franchisees, according to Firehouse Subs.
What’s next
As noted by What Now, the franchise has yet to announce when subs will start rolling out of the new kitchen. City permit activity or an official grand-opening announcement from the company will be the next signals for when the Harvest Junction location is ready to serve.
