
Gunfire broke out across the street from a North Hollywood high school on Monday afternoon, leaving one person wounded and rattling a busy intersection as students and staff wrapped up their day.
Police were called to the area near Chandler Boulevard and Vineland Avenue shortly before 4:45 p.m., where they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound, according to NBC Los Angeles. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, and their condition was not immediately known.
Officers detained a potential suspect at the scene as the area filled with flashing lights and investigators began piecing together what happened. Authorities have not said what might have led up to the shooting.
