A tense hostage scare inside a small Johnsville convenience store ended with a Morrow County man in handcuffs Saturday, after authorities say he tried to rob the shop and held two people inside. The incident at Marvin’s Village Market triggered a multi‑agency law enforcement response that ultimately brought the situation under control, officials said.
According to WBNS, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 43‑year‑old Todd Yarger. Deputies were called to Marvin’s Village Market in Johnsville last Saturday, Feb. 14, and sheriff’s officials told the station that when officers arrived, two people were being held inside the store.

Authorities say the suspect was taken into custody and transported to a hospital for medical clearance before being booked. County jail records show he is being held at the Morrow County Correctional Facility on an aggravated‑robbery charge.
