Kappucinos Breakfast & Sports Bar is gearing up for a mid-April opening at Dunns Creek Crossing in North Jacksonville, promising specialty morning coffees and Southern breakfast favorites by day, then a full-on sports bar vibe at night. The plan is fast-casual breakfast and lunch through early afternoon, followed by an after-5 p.m. lineup of big-screen TVs, a full bar and live entertainment, all pitched as a go-to neighborhood spot for nearby residents, day-shift workers and JAXPORT employees.
According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, owners Keith and Catherine Jones have already invested an estimated $1,000,000 and will take over roughly 6,000 square feet in Units 401-404 at 11257 Alta Drive. "I just want to be the 'Cheers' and a nice neighborhood hub," Keith Jones said. The couple plans an April grand opening that will benefit military veterans. The city has issued three sign permits dated Dec. 31, 2025, and is reviewing a tenant build-out permit estimated at $155,084, while Jones has also requested a zoning exception to serve alcohol.
Space and setup
Dunns Creek Crossing sits at the corner of Alta Drive and Faye Road just off I-295 and was built out as a fresh retail hub for the Northside. As listed on CommercialCafe, the center offers a mix of in-line suites and outparcels and markets its space to both national brands and local operators. Kappucinos is planning a roughly 600-square-foot outdoor patio on the east end of the center, which the owners say will help host community events and provide extra room for casual dining.
Menu, hours and entertainment
The Joneses say Kappucinos will open at 6 a.m. for coffee drinks and breakfast, continue lunch service until about 1 p.m., then flip into sports-bar mode at 5 p.m. and run until roughly 10:30 or 11 p.m. Evenings will feature multiple large-screen TVs, a full bar and rotating programming - from live music and comedy nights to trivia, poker, bingo and karaoke - all aimed at building a base of regulars and pulling in game-day crowds, per the Jacksonville Daily Record.
What it means for the neighborhood
Kappucinos joins a wave of recent openings and tenant build-outs in the Dunns Creek Crossing project as the area responds to new residential development and nearby industrial growth. Property listings on LoopNet indicate the center was developed in recent years to serve the Northside market and offers strong visibility and access for drivers on I-295. The Joneses say they plan regular community events and charity programming to help cement the spot as a local gathering place.
If permits and construction stay on track, Kappucinos is aiming for a mid-April debut, starting with a soft opening followed by a larger, veterans-focused grand opening. The owners are emphasizing affordable, Southern-inspired dishes alongside coffee drinks and expect to draw both early-morning regulars and evening sports fans. Expect more details as the tenant build-out continues and the zoning exception works its way through city review.
