Violence Keeps Shadowing LA Taco Stands
Street food spots and taco stands in the Los Angeles area have faced robberies and violence for years, turning what should be casual late-night eats into risky territory for some vendors and customers.
The Los Angeles Times reported on the 2014 killing of a taco stand owner in Lynwood, and FOX 11 covered a 2016 South LA case in which a taco stand employee fatally shot an alleged robbery suspect, highlighting the dangers that can come with serving food into the early morning hours.
Detectives Seek Leads From Public
LAPD has not released a suspect description, and South Bureau Homicide detectives, who handle cases in the 77th Street area, are leading the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact South Bureau Homicide at (323) 786-5100 or the LAPD tip line at 1-877-LAPD-24-7, according to the department website (LAPD). MyNewsLA noted that LAFD paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
