A couple from Maryland, Paris and John Ajaero, are grappling with the tragic loss of their twin infants following a premature birth during a cruise in Mexico. The ordeal unfolded when Paris, accompanied by her mother, went into preterm labor while on a gospel cruise, as reported by WMAR2 News. During the first night of the cruise, discomfort led to the delivery of a baby boy and an urgent evacuation to a hospital in Cancun, where the second child, a baby girl, could not be saved.

The couple had previously been elated to learn of their twins on October 6, revealing the news to family on Christmas Day. However, tragedy struck two weeks ago during the cruise. According to CBS News Baltimore, Paris felt discomfort suddenly, which indicated the onset of labor. "We quickly realized the feet were already out," Paris recounted. After a "good faith payment" of $5,000 was made, the couple hoped doctors would be able to save their baby girl, but unfortunately, the twins passed away a day apart.

Now back in the United States without their infants, the Ajaeros face the bureaucratic challenge and financial strain of international funeral arrangements. The grieving family has launched a GoFundMe campaign aiming to raise the substantial sum necessary to cover the funeral and transportation costs to bring their children home from Mexico. Paris, speaking about the loss and the complex situation, asserted, "We really just want to get them back so we can do the proper burial for them," as told to WMAR2 News.

John, articulating his anguish over the situation, described his feelings bluntly to WMAR2 News: "It was like somebody reaching into your chest and just squeezing your heart." He recounted seeing his children for the first time via video call, marking a moment of poignant beauty against a backdrop of immense pain. Paris and John now contemplate how to memorialize their twins, while still nurturing hopes of one day becoming parents again.
