Masked suspects smashed a window and allegedly slipped into a Hollywood Hills home on the 1400 block of Rising Glen Road just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, sparking a swift police response and a long night of flashing lights on the hillside.

By the time officers arrived, the intruders were gone, and no injuries had been reported. Neighbors described a heavy police presence as investigators worked the property into the evening, combing the grounds and checking the perimeter.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Department said officers found a smashed window on the property and were still working to determine whether anything had been taken. The outlet reports witnesses and police described the suspects as masked and possibly armed, while aerial footage showed multiple officers walking the grounds as investigators processed the scene.

LAPD links recent arrests to larger theft probes

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, detectives recently wrapped a multi-agency probe into a transnational group suspected of stealing watches and jewelry from retail and other locations across the country, recovering property as investigators pursue additional leads. The department said it is working with partner agencies and asking the public for information as those cases move forward. Officials have not publicly tied the Rising Glen Road break-in to that investigation.

Block saw a similar response last month

As late-night mansion break-in coverage noted in late January, officers responded to a reported burglary on North Rising Glen Road that left broken glass and prompted a multi-hour police sweep. Local coverage at the time showed stringer footage of officers processing that scene while detectives canvassed neighbors and reviewed surveillance.

The LAPD is asking anyone with information or doorbell and security camera footage to preserve it and contact investigators. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers, the department said. Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday is urged to reach out to police to assist the investigation.
