
A 40-year-old man died after police found him with a gunshot wound to the chest inside his car just after midnight Friday in Southwest Philadelphia. Officers came across the vehicle sitting partly on the curb and partly in the parking lane on Upland Street near South 67th Street, and the discovery has now launched a full-on homicide investigation.
Police: Live Round Found Near Car, No Casings
According to police, the victim, a 40-year-old man, was found inside the car shortly after midnight Friday. At the scene, officers did not locate any spent shell casings but did find a live round near the vehicle. Investigators told reporters they are combing through nearby surveillance and doorbell camera footage in search of clues, according to 6abc.

What Police Are Not Saying Yet
Authorities have not released the victim’s name, and no arrests have been announced in connection with the killing, according to 6abc. Detectives are still processing the scene and say they plan to update the public as additional information becomes available.
