How to report tips
For residents who want to help but stay out of the spotlight, anonymous tips can be submitted to Milwaukee County Crime Stoppers at 414-224-TIPS (8477) or through the P3 Tips app, according to CBS58. Crime Stoppers scrambles caller IDs and assigns a tip code so people can follow up on their information without revealing who they are, CBS58 reports. Rewards may be available for tips that help solve homicide cases.
Neighborhood context
This killing adds to a grim tally on Milwaukee’s north side, where police are investigating multiple shootings in the district. In recent weeks the department has pushed out several “seek suspects” alerts, which are regularly shared in police press releases and republished by local outlets such as Urban Milwaukee. Authorities are asking anyone who was near N. 25th Street on Wednesday night, especially those who may have surveillance or cellphone video, to contact detectives.
