The National Weather Service in Milwaukee is forecasting a change in weather patterns that will see temperatures swing from a pleasant high of 60 degrees today, down to a mix of rain and snow later in the week. Tuesday’s forecast comes with a 20-percent chance of snow, and an expected high around 33 degrees, because Spring in Milwaukee is as unpredictable as a game of dice.
Residents can expect to gradually see sunny skies today, but things are set to chill down by tonight, with a low around 36 degrees. Even though the wind is aiming to take it somewhat easy on us, gusts up to 30 mph are still on the menu, strong enough to remind anyone daring to walk lakeside to hold onto their caps. As reported by NWS Milwaukee, Thursday might surprise us with snow showers before 9 am and also offer a chance of rain, with some thunder also being possible.
The latter half of the week looks wet and breezy — with rain and possibly a thunderstorm Thursday night, and a high likelihood of precipitation at 80 percent. Friday’s forecast doesn't to fail to include rain and snow before noon. So, those hoping for the week to end on a bright note, might want to temper their expectations and keep an umbrella handy. With temperatures hovering around the 40-degree mark, wrapping up warm will be key for any outdoor activities.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the NWS predicts it to remain on the cooler side with partly cloudy skies Friday night and lows dipping to 24 degrees. Saturday should bring some relief with mostly sunny skies, but don't put away the winter gear just yet. Snow might once again enter the picture Saturday night and linger into Sunday morning, although chances are currently slim at 20 to 30 percent. Be ready to scrape off that windshield again.
As the new week begins, Milwaukeeans can look forward to a bit more sun on Monday, with a high near 29 degrees, before another potential snowfall on Tuesday. While the season can't seem to decide if it's ready to quit winter and jump into spring, this city by the lake braces for whatever the skies throw its way.
