West Bloomfield Township police have issued a public call for any additional information regarding a local nanny, Michael Alan Bank, who has been accused and arraigned on charges of sexually abusing a minor, as reported by CBS News. Bank, aged 58, who was found through Sittercity.com, allegedly abused a child over a period of years; this came to light following a search of his West Bloomfield home.
According to a report by Audacy, following his arrest and arraignment on January 18, investigators found several electronic devices in Bank's home and uncovered disturbing images and evidence of his sexual conduct with children, which has led them to believe there might be more victims who have not yet come forward requiring the need for a public appeal for further victim identification, "with some of those children in various compromised positions and acts," categorizing them as first and second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child.
Bank is currently being held without bond in the Oakland County Jail, as detailed in FOX 2 Detroit's coverage. The West Bloomfield police, who first got involved with the investigation on January 8th after receiving information from Northfield Township police, have been painstakingly analyzing the seized electronic devices for any evidence that may point towards additional victims, and have already reported discovering a "multitude of evidence," including incriminating images of a bank with children.
As the investigative efforts continue, West Bloomfield Township police are urging the public to come forward with any relevant information that may help identify further victims or witnesses. Anyone with information is strongly encouraged to contact the police department at 248-975-8981 in efforts to piece together the full scope of the Bank’s alleged criminal actions and ensure justice for all victims involved.
