A 26-year-old man wanted on multiple warrants tried to bolt from a Penn Hills home yesterday by jumping from a first-floor window, but deputies quickly surrounded him and made the arrest a short distance from the residence. He was later transported to the Allegheny County Jail, according to the sheriff's office.

Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus identified the suspect as Curtis Davis, 26, of Knoxville, and said a bench warrant was issued on December 1 for a probation violation tied to prior guilty pleas on drug and firearm charges, Newport Dispatch reported. The sheriff's office said Davis also had active arrest warrants out of the City of Pittsburgh for counts including burglary, firearms offenses and assault. Detectives developed information that Davis was inside a residence on Barckhoff Street, then moved in and arrested him after he jumped from the first-floor window and tried to flee.

Past pursuit ended in crash

This is not the first time Davis has tried to outrun law enforcement. In April 2024, he led detectives on a lengthy pursuit that ended in a two-vehicle crash in Mt. Lebanon when deputies tried to stop him. He was treated at Allegheny General Hospital after that crash and later booked, as reported by CBS News.

Charges and next steps

Davis faces counts including burglary, firearms charges and assault and remains in county custody pending arraignment, according to Newport Dispatch. Prosecutors are expected to review the case and file formal charges at arraignment. The sheriff's office did not immediately release information on bond or upcoming court dates.
