Aurora police are once again asking the public for help, circulating a photo Thursday of a person they say may have information about an arson that damaged multiple businesses in north Aurora. Investigators connected the image to a blaze on the 2200 block of North Dayton Street on Oct. 31, 2025, and say they are hoping fresh tips can finally jump-start the long-running investigation.
Police share image and renew appeal
The Aurora Police Department posted the image on X on March 19 and asked, "Do you recognize this person?" The post said the individual "may have information about an arson that damaged multiple businesses in Aurora" and re-shared a message from the Aurora Fire Rescue Fire Investigation Bureau. Officers urged anyone who recognizes the person, or who knows anything about the case, to contact investigators, according to the Aurora Police Department.
How to submit tips
Anyone with information can contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tips may be given anonymously and could be eligible for a cash reward, as reported by CBS Colorado. Local police communications also encourage residents to check security cameras and doorbell footage for anything unusual, guidance that is shared on the Aurora Police Department blog.
Where the case stands
The department’s post did not announce any arrests and presented the message as a renewed public appeal while the investigation continues. Similar fire investigations have led to arrests in Aurora, including a December 2025 case involving a separate string of blazes, which highlighted the city’s ongoing focus on arson cases, as reported by the Denver Gazette.
Police are again asking anyone with tips, surveillance video, or photos from the area to review their footage and call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
