Johnstown’s Main Street just picked up a serious new player. Black Diamond Prime, the steakhouse arm of the Black Diamond hospitality group, opened its doors this week, giving the village a chef-led dining option that plugs the company’s small-town steakhouse formula into central Ohio outside Columbus.

As reported by Columbus Business First, the restaurant is now serving at 49 1/2 South Main Street and follows the group’s existing Circleville concept. The Black Diamond website describes the operation as a brewery, distillery and growing roster of taprooms and restaurants that its operators say are tied to downtown redevelopment projects across southeastern and central Ohio.

Chef Alfonso To Oversee The Opening

Chef Alfonso Contrisciani, a stakeholder in the Black Diamond companies, is taking point on the Johnstown rollout. In a LinkedIn post, he said he will oversee staff training and the launch in Johnstown, writing, “Johnstown represents everything we look for in a community: strong local pride, growth, and an appreciation for quality.”

In that same post, Contrisciani noted that the team had been working toward a March opening and said additional staffing and service details would be shared through the company’s channels.

Menu, Hours And Reservations

Reservations and hours for the Johnstown location are listed on OpenTable, which shows the restaurant at 49 1/2 S. Main St. on a mostly evening schedule. OpenTable does not yet list a full Johnstown-specific menu, but the Circleville steakhouse’s entries, featuring prime rib, a range of grilled cuts and cocktails built around Black Diamond Bourbon, give a clear hint at the direction Johnstown diners can expect.

Small-Town Expansion Playbook

On its own Black Diamond Development site, the group frames its work as historic-preservation-led economic development, pairing revived storefronts with beverage and restaurant anchors to generate foot traffic and jobs. Local reporting on the company’s recent purchase and rebrand of Marietta Brewing Company also points to that broader regional expansion strategy and its focus on using hospitality projects as downtown anchors.

For Johnstown residents, Black Diamond Prime adds a higher-end option right on Main Street and another reason for people to linger downtown in the evening. Public listings show reservations available online and the Johnstown address reflected across the group’s public profiles.
