Tacoma’s Powder Room Champagne Bar, a bubbly-focused brunch and cocktail spot in the Stadium District, has gone quiet after less than three years in business. Owner Cameron Gilmore shared on Instagram Thursday that she is packing up for Fort Worth, and by Friday afternoon the front door at 12 N Tacoma Ave. was locked. For now, the storefront appears closed to the public.
Owner Says She Is Texas-Bound
According to The News Tribune, Gilmore posted Thursday that she will be relocating to Fort Worth and that the Tacoma outpost would stop service. A reporter for The News Tribune noted the door was locked around 2 p.m. Friday, and that Instagram seemed to be the main way regulars were finding out about the closure.
From Mimosa Flights To Waffle Towers
The Powder Room billed itself as a champagne bar with a menu of cocktails, sparkling wine, dinner and a family-style brunch that leaned into theatrics, including waffle towers and mimosa flights, according to the restaurant’s website. That site still lists the Stadium District location at 12 N Tacoma Ave. and shows hours, reservations and upcoming events that, as of Friday, continued to appear active online. The spot also kept a reservation listing on platforms such as OpenTable.
How The Powder Room Landed In The Stadium District
Owners Gilmore and Kia Smith are credited with launching the Powder Room, with The News Tribune noting the concept opened in 2023. Local coverage from WhatNow reported that the Powder Room later moved into the 12 N Tacoma Ave. address in 2025 after Gilman House Room 428 exited the space, describing a period of kitchen-sharing that came before lease talks.
Future Of The Space Still Fuzzy
So far, the Instagram post remains the clearest public word on the status of the business, and the next chapter for the Stadium District storefront is not yet clear. Online listings for the Powder Room are still live, and there has not been a more detailed public statement about what will happen with the space beyond that social media update.
