Center City turned into a midday soccer street party on Tuesday as Philadelphia marked 100 days until the FIFA World Cup with a pep rally that doubled as a hype launch for the summer. The celebration featured the unveiling of the official tournament poster and a local fan campaign, all while organizers reminded everyone that the first matches kick off in June and that multiple matchdays, including a June 14 fixture at Lincoln Financial Field, are headed straight for Philly. The countdown is designed to roll into months of watch parties, volunteer drives and neighborhood events tied to the tournament.
Philadelphia Soccer 2026, the city’s local host committee, put on Tuesday’s Center City celebration and used it to launch the “How Do You Phan?” fan campaign, according to its press release. The group reiterated that Philadelphia is on the hook for five group-stage matches and a Round-of-16 showdown on July 4 as part of the expanded 48-team, 104-match tournament. Eagles defensive lineman Brandon Graham hosted the Center City event, which packed in music, mascots and family programming, 6abc Philadelphia reported.
Nationwide Hype And The New Tournament Poster
U.S. Soccer used the 100-day milestone to roll out a coast-to-coast lineup of fan experiences, ranging from a U.S. Soccer House in Los Angeles to community Soccer Forward Fests, all meant to pull supporters into local events and public-viewing setups. The official tournament poster that debuted Tuesday, a collage-style design centered on a player, is available for pre-order from the FIFA Store.
Philly’s Match Lineup And The Linc
Lincoln Financial Field’s public calendar lists Philadelphia’s opening World Cup match on June 14, Côte d’Ivoire vs. Ecuador, followed by group-stage fixtures on June 19, June 22, June 25 and June 27, with a Round-of-16 game set for July 4. Those listings match the host committee’s published slate and highlight why the city is already shifting into a match-week style operational rhythm, from transit planning to volunteer recruitment.
How Fans Can Get Ready Now
Local travel and hospitality officials have been urging fans to lock in hotels and travel plans early. Reporting from 6abc noted that Center City availability and room rates are likely to tighten as match days draw closer. Organizers and U.S. Soccer also say that official ticketing phases and fan-festival details will roll out on FIFA and host-committee channels, with additional sales windows and last-minute phases expected in the weeks ahead.
Between now and June, officials say the focus will be on neighborhood-level programming, finalizing security and transportation plans, and recruiting volunteers and vendors so Philadelphia can put its best foot forward when the rest of the world shows up.
