A Thursday night raid on a Statia Street home in Coraopolis ended with a local man in handcuffs and officers hauling away suspected drugs, guns, cash, and even a boat, according to investigators.

Police say 40-year-old Nicholas Giese was taken into custody after law enforcement served a search warrant at his home and forced their way in when no one answered the door. Officers reported seeing Giese running from the house and detained him as part of the operation. A Chevy Silverado and a boat were later towed from the scene.

According to the criminal complaint and a news release, agents executed the warrant around 6 p.m. and ordered Giese at gunpoint to stop before arresting him. “This is a powerful example of the continuing efforts to impact the West End sections of Pittsburgh,” Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala said in the release, as reported by CBS Pittsburgh.

What Investigators Recovered And The Charges

Investigators say the search turned up 907 grams of suspected cocaine and 32 grams of suspected psilocybin mushrooms, along with drug paraphernalia, two firearms, and nearly $30,000 in cash. Authorities also reported seizing the Chevy Silverado and the boat.

Giese faces charges that include dealing in the proceeds of illegal activity, possession with intent to deliver, and firearms violations. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for March 31, according to CBS Pittsburgh.

Seized Assets And How They Are Handled

Authorities took custody of the vehicle and boat as part of the case. In Allegheny County, assets such as vehicles, cash, and weapons tied to criminal investigations are overseen by the district attorney’s Asset Forfeiture Unit while cases move through court. The office notes that the unit “oversees all of the police departments in Allegheny County with respect to the seizure, handling and storage of property” and manages evidence, contraband, and other property during investigations.
