Folsom Sierra Endoscopy Center is lining up a roughly $14 million tenant build-out for a 20,469-square-foot space at 1671 Creekside Drive, a quick hop from Intel’s Folsom campus. The outpatient project would carve out eight procedure rooms and 18 recovery bays for gastrointestinal cases, boosting same-day care capacity in the city’s growing medical corridor on the south side of town.
As reported by the Sacramento Business Journal, the work is listed as a 20,469-square-foot tenant improvement with an estimated construction cost of about $14,000,000. The Business Journal notes that the build-out would convert the space for gastrointestinal procedures and recovery and places the site at 1671 Creekside Drive, a cluster of medical offices and outpatient providers just off Highway 50. That reporting supplied the room and bay counts that define the project’s scope.
Operator, location and services
According to the center’s website, the operator lists the address as 1671 Creekside Drive, Suite 100, and describes Folsom Sierra Endoscopy Center as an AAAHC-accredited ambulatory endoscopy provider staffed by board-certified gastroenterologists. The site advertises colonoscopy, upper endoscopy and other outpatient GI procedures, along with patient forms and scheduling contacts, indicating the clinic already functions as a local same-day resource. The proposed build-out would expand that footprint into a larger, dedicated procedural and recovery area.
Part of a larger local health push
Healthcare investment has been moving quickly in Folsom. Sutter Health closed on land for a roughly $145 million outpatient care complex that will include cancer care and same-day surgery. Recent commercial deals and CBRE market notes also point to active trading of medical office properties and low vacancy in the Creekside area, underscoring demand for medical space near existing hospitals and outpatient centers. In that context, the planned endoscopy build-out is another step in a broader push to add ambulatory capacity along the Highway 50 corridor.
Why ambulatory endoscopy matters
Ambulatory surgery centers often provide same-day procedures at lower facility costs than hospital outpatient departments, which can translate into lower patient charges for routine endoscopic care, according to Medicare. Johns Hopkins Medicine has noted that bundling upper and lower GI procedures on the same day is more often done in ambulatory settings and can make life easier for patients who would rather prep once than twice. Industry notices have also singled out Folsom Sierra for patient-experience honors, a sign the operator is positioning the site to handle higher volumes of outpatient cases; AMSURG included the center among recognized locations for patient experience.
No construction timetable or opening date has been publicly announced yet, and permit filings and company notices are likely to be the next place where details appear. If the project moves ahead, the build-out would add specialized outpatient GI capacity to a part of Folsom that has already attracted major health system investment. We will update this story as filings, job postings and company announcements surface.
