A weekend motorcycle ride on Northshore Road turned deadly Sunday when a 44-year-old Henderson man was killed in a single-vehicle crash, according to state troopers. Nevada Highway Patrol units responded around 8:50 a.m. to the wreck on State Route 167 near mile marker 16, where the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed and a Curve Cited

According to KSNV, Nevada State Police identified the rider as 44-year-old Nicholas Sean Miller of Henderson. Investigators said a red 2024 Ducati Panigale was heading north in the No. 1 travel lane just north of mile marker 16 when Miller entered a curve at a speed too fast for conditions. The motorcycle left the roadway, overturned in the desert on the west side of SR-167, and Miller was ejected.

Investigation Underway

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol's Major Incident Reconstruction Team has been assigned to dig into the details of the crash, according to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol. The agency's Southern Command handled the initial response and lists a public affairs contact for anyone with tips or information.

Southern Command Tally

The wreck adds to a grim count for the year. Southern Command has investigated 17 fatal crashes resulting in 20 fatalities in 2026, authorities said, as reported by KSNV. Officials did not immediately release additional details about whether impairment or other factors may have contributed.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information is urged to contact Nevada State Police Southern Command through the public affairs office listed on the Highway Patrol website. Authorities said more information will be released as the Major Incident Reconstruction Team completes its work.
