The Greek — Eats & Sweets has quietly slipped into the Shoppes at Morrison in Mooresville, bringing family recipes and imported Greek ingredients to the Lake Norman dining strip. Co-owners Stavros Basmas and Michael Ntourmas set up a fast-casual, counter-service spot at 111 Marketplace Ave., Suite B, with a takeout-friendly lineup of gyros, five-step build-your-own protein bowls, salads, spreads and a dessert case full of Greek sweets. The compact storefront is geared to catch the lunch rush, early-dinner traffic and the ever-growing army of delivery orders.
As reported by The Charlotte Observer, Basmas said, "we're as authentic as you can get," noting that many of the dishes are pulled straight from family recipes. The Observer also reported that the Mooresville shop opened on Feb. 18 and highlighted spreads such as tzatziki, tirokafteri and hummus, along with both signature and mini gyros.
What’s on the menu
According to The Greek, the Mooresville location leans on a tight menu of gyros, salads, five-step build-your-own protein bowls and several house spreads for both dine-in and takeout. Delivery listings on platforms such as Uber Eats show Lamb & Beef Gyro and baklava among the top-ordered items, with portions and choices that mirror the in-house menu, adjusted for app pricing.
Long Island roots and the brand
The concept traces back to Long Island operators who have been eyeing additional locations, and local coverage, including Long Island Restaurants, has noted plans for a Syosset outpost. Trademark filings tied to THE GREEK EATS & SWEETS list an Ntourmas owner and back up the brand's formal registration, according to Justia.
How to order
Per the Mooresville location's site, the shop runs on counter service, carryout and delivery, and lists a phone number for call-ahead pickups. Customers can place orders directly through the restaurant online, while delivery partners such as DoorDash also carry the menu, with the usual caveat that hours and availability can vary between the restaurant and third-party apps.
The arrival of The Greek adds a Mediterranean grab-and-go option to the Lake Norman strip-mall lineup, giving locals another quick route to gyros, spreads and other Greek classics that lean heavily on family recipes.
