Two people were wounded when gunfire erupted outside a North Linden bar early Sunday after a fight spilled into the parking lot, police said. Officers were called just before 3 a.m. to the 1400 block of Oakland Park Avenue, where they found two victims outside the business.

One person was rushed to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and later upgraded to stable. The second victim was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition. No arrests have been announced, and investigators are asking anyone who saw what happened to speak up.

What local TV and police reported

According to WSYX, officers found the two victims after a fight involving several people moved from inside the bar into the parking lot, where shots were fired. The station reports one victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition before being stabilized, while the other was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in stable condition.

A block with a history of violence

The same stretch of Oakland Park Avenue has drawn repeated police attention and city scrutiny. In July 2025 the Columbus City Attorney's Property Action Team filed a lawsuit against First Stop Bar and Grill at 1427 Oakland Park Ave., alleging a “history of violent crime, liquor code violations and a recent double-shooting,” according to a press release from the Columbus City Attorney.

Earlier fatal shooting nearby

The block was also the scene of a deadly June 18, 2025 shooting that killed 28-year-old Jayvon Gore, the Columbus Division of Police said in a media release. Officers responding to the 1400 block of Oakland Park Avenue found Gore with an apparent gunshot wound, and multiple people exchanged gunfire in the parking lot of an after-hours establishment, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Police have not identified any suspects in Sunday's shooting, WSYX reports. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Columbus Division of Police or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS, a contact listed in prior releases from the Columbus Division of Police and often repeated in local coverage.
