A late-night stop for gas in North Hollywood turned violent Monday when a carjacking left a woman injured and sent LAPD officers searching nearby streets for two suspects. The call came in around 11 p.m. in the 12500 block of Sherman Way, and video from the scene shows paramedics loading a woman into an ambulance. Police said two male suspects took off and remained at large overnight.
Police say a metal pipe was used
According to KTLA, officers said the carjacking was logged at about 11 p.m. at the Sherman Way station and that two adult men were believed to be involved. Callers and scene video indicated a metal pipe was used, and that same pipe could be seen on the ground near the pumps. Investigators told the station it was not immediately clear what kind of vehicle was taken as the suspects ran off.
Witnesses described the chaos
Surveillance and bystander video captured the aftermath, including paramedics loading the injured woman into an ambulance and the metal pipe lying near a gas pump. That footage was later shared with reporters. A witness at the station told KTLA that "it's something that's unexpected and pretty messed up, honestly," as onlookers gathered around the pumps. Officials said the woman was transported to a hospital for treatment.
