A Kinston man wanted in a 2024 killing is back in custody after federal marshals tracked him down in New York, where officers say he was wearing a shirt that read “Notice Me” at the time of his arrest. Authorities say 21-year-old Bryson Bradley is accused in the September 20, 2024, shooting that left 25-year-old Korie Williams dead and injured others, and he is now being prepared for extradition to North Carolina to face charges.
Marshals Track Down Fugitive Suspect
In a March 4 update, Kinston police said federal officers with the U.S. Marshals Service located Bradley in New York and took him into custody to begin the process of returning him to North Carolina, according to the Kinston Police Department. The agency said the Marshals led the operation and thanked them, along with other law enforcement partners, for helping close in on the suspect. As reported by Neuse News, Bradley was reportedly wearing a “Notice Me” shirt at the time of his arrest.
Deadly 2024 Shooting On South McDaniels Street
The case traces back to the night of September 20, 2024, when officers responded to the 300 block of South McDaniels Street for a shooting and found multiple gunshot victims. Investigators later learned that Williams had died from his injuries, according to contemporaneous reporting. WITN reported that detectives subsequently obtained warrants charging Bradley with murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. The shooting set off a multi-agency investigation that sought additional suspects and tips from the public.
Warrants, Charges And The Trip Back To Kinston
City records and earlier police statements show that detectives secured warrants for Bradley in late September 2024, listing one count of murder and multiple counts of attempted murder. As outlined by Kinston.gov, the department urged anyone with information to contact its tip line or Crime Stoppers. Now that federal officers have him in custody, Bradley is expected to be processed and transported back to North Carolina once the extradition paperwork is completed.
Ongoing Investigation And Community Fallout
Kinston police say their thoughts remain with Williams’ family and that the arrest is one step in a still-active investigation, according to the Kinston Police Department. Officials have not released details about where Bradley was living in New York prior to his arrest and say they are continuing to follow up on leads. Anyone with information about the case is still urged to contact the department’s tip line or Lenoir County Crime Stoppers.
