The Philadelphia Wings say this season will be their last. The city's professional box lacrosse franchise announced Monday that it will cease operations after the 2025–26 campaign, closing the books on Philadelphia's current National Lacrosse League era.
The team is set to play a final home game at Xfinity Mobile Arena on April 11 and a final scheduled matchup at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on April 18. Fans who already bought tickets for the remaining dates are still expected to see the Wings take the floor through those games.
This was not an easy conclusion to reach, and it is one we considered with great care. Since the Wings' re-establishment in 2017 and return to the turf in 2018, the team has proudly carried on Philadelphia's rich lacrosse tradition at the highest level.

Team statement and coverage
In a brief statement posted to the club's social channels, the organization said the decision "was not an easy conclusion to reach, and it is one we considered with great care." As reported by NBC10 Philadelphia, the Wings did not offer additional details about any ownership changes or the possibility of relocation.
Season record and remaining dates
According to the NLL's official standings, the Wings closed the regular season with a 4–12 record and have been eliminated from playoff contention. The schedule and ticket listings show a final home game against the Las Vegas Desert Dogs at Xfinity Mobile Arena on April 11, per Ticketmaster, and a last road game against the Vancouver Warriors at Rogers Arena on April 18, based on the league's schedule on NLL.com.
Roots and ownership
The Wings' name and identity trace back to the original franchise that began league play in the late 1980s. The modern version of the club was awarded to Comcast Spectacor as an expansion team in 2017 and returned to Philadelphia in 2018, as covered at the time by USA Lacrosse.
What fans should know
Season-ticket holders and single-game buyers are being advised to watch for updates from the team and ticketing partners regarding any refunds or exchanges, since venues typically handle logistics when events are affected. For now, the organization has said it will honor the remaining scheduled games and has not provided a timeline for a potential return or sale of the franchise, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.
