Coco Shrimp, the Hawaiian-style, shrimp-only fast-casual chain, is gearing up to crack into Oak Lawn, with its first Dallas storefront expected to open this July at 2525 Wycliff Avenue, Suite 130. The partners behind the expansion say the renovated space will feature seating and counter service inside roughly 2,200 square feet, bringing the brand inside Dallas city limits after years of growing its fan base across North Texas.
According to What Now Dallas, paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists the Wycliff unit at about 2,200 square feet. The report notes that partners Walter Cervin and Blaise Hadley chose the spot for its proximity to Oak Lawn and the Dallas Medical Center and are aiming for a July opening, although a firm grand-opening date is still under wraps.
What the menu will look like
As noted on Coco Shrimp, the brand is coming to DALLAS this summer with a tightly focused, shrimp-forward menu. Company materials and local coverage describe a compact lineup built around five shrimp plates and a sampler, all served with buttered garlic rice and a fresh salad, with sauces and dressings made from scratch. Community Impact has also spotlighted the chain’s plate-style service and its Coco Tacos, which have picked up recognition on Yelp.
Coco Shrimp's DFW footprint
According to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation records, recent Coco Shrimp projects include a roughly 2,300-square-foot finish-out in Mansfield. Another TDLR entry lists a College Station build-out as well. Those filings track with the brand’s steady regional evolution from a Fort Worth food-truck origin into multiple brick-and-mortar restaurants across North Texas.
When to expect it
Owners say they are targeting a July opening for Oak Lawn but have not circled a specific date on the calendar yet. The company’s site still lists the Dallas shop as “coming to DALLAS this summer.” Hadley told What Now Dallas that the Oak Lawn address should help “enhance the dining options” in an area the partners consider short on quality restaurants. We will update when a grand-opening date and operating hours are confirmed.
