Baskin-Robbins is betting New Caney has room for a few more scoops. The ice-cream chain has signed on for a 1,350-square-foot spot at Valley Ranch Town Center, joining a steady stream of restaurants and retailers that have been filling out the fast-growing development. The move cuts into remaining vacancy and adds another family-friendly stop to the center’s expanding dining mix.
Lease details and tenant lineup
According to a March 17 press release from The Signorelli Company, Baskin-Robbins is one of five recently inked leases that together cover more than 11,000 square feet. The new deals push Valley Ranch Town Center to about 97 percent leased, tightening what is left of the available space.
The same batch of signings brings in Wells Fargo, Starbucks, Qargo Coffee and Nick the Greek, a lineup that mixes financial services with a blend of coffee, dessert and fast-casual fare.
What to expect from the new shop
The brand’s U.S. locations serve scoops and sundaes, ice-cream cakes and pies, and drinks such as floats, milkshakes and smoothies, according to Baskin-Robbins. The company leans on compact storefronts, a format that it and the developer say slots neatly into open-air centers and works well near entertainment-focused anchors.
Local context and competition
Community Impact first reported the Baskin-Robbins lease at Valley Ranch Town Center and noted that the exact opening date and storefront address have not yet been announced. When it does open, the shop will land in a center that already has a sweet tooth.
Valley Ranch’s existing dessert lineup includes a Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies combo at 22118 Market Place Drive, which opened last year. With Baskin-Robbins on the way, shoppers will have multiple dessert options for an afternoon treat or a post-errand stop.
Why it matters
Signorelli has framed the recent leases as part of a broader effort to round out Valley Ranch’s retail and entertainment mix. The developer says the center attracts nearly 12 million visitors each year and is adding an entertainment district and a convention center to the area. Those projects are presented as key reasons national dining and service brands are planting their flags in New Caney, with Baskin-Robbins now among the latest arrivals.
