
An early morning burst of gunfire on 51st Street in northwestern Queens has NYPD Crime Stoppers asking neighbors to help track down whoever pulled the trigger.
According to the alert, an unidentified individual discharged a firearm at about 1:20 a.m. Tuesday in front of 32-17 51 Street, within the 114th Precinct. The person then took off on foot and was last spotted heading toward 31-60 51 Street. Investigators say they are especially interested in any witnesses or video from the area.

In a post shared Thursday, NYPD Crime Stoppers said the incident is classified as reckless endangerment and listed under the 114th Precinct. The program is offering up to $3,500 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.

The addresses in the alert fall within the NYPD’s 114th Precinct, which covers Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights, according to the NYPD. The precinct’s station house sits on Astoria Boulevard and its command handles policing duties for this busy slice of northwestern Queens.
How to submit tips
Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or submit an anonymous tip through the program, the New York City Police Foundation notes. The foundation says rewards of up to $3,500 may be paid for tips that lead to an arrest. Tips can also be sent via direct message to the NYPD Crime Stoppers social account.
