Trasca & Co Eatery, the cozy panino and pizza joint that has anchored a corner of Sawgrass Village in Ponte Vedra Beach, will serve its final customers at the end of business on April 13, closing the book on an 11-year run. Owner Sara Frasca is stepping away to focus on her consulting work and to spend more time with her blended family. The Ponte Vedra Tap Room, the small bar Frasca opened in 2022 that shares the restaurant's space, will shut down the same day. The team is planning a public farewell and a short equipment sale once the doors are locked.
As reported by the Jax Daily Record, Frasca called Trasca "a passion-filled labor of love" and said she turned down offers to sell because she could not "come to terms with someone else being at the helm." According to the paper, she opened Trasca in 2015 and added the Ponte Vedra Tap Room in 2022. Frasca told the outlet that running both operations had become unsustainable and that her consulting work offers a clearer path forward.
Frasca To Focus On Consulting
Frasca plans to pour her energy into Point NorthEast, the consulting firm she runs that offers coaching, strategic planning and operational programs for growing professional firms. According to Point NorthEast, the company helps clients boost employee retention and build measurable growth through a structured "Journey" program. In recent years, Frasca has paired that work with speaking and podcast projects.
Farewell Party And Equipment Sale
According to the Jax Daily Record, Frasca has invited the public to a closing party starting at 5 p.m. on April 11 and has scheduled an in-person equipment sale from April 14 through April 16, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The outlet reports that she will list additional items on Facebook Marketplace and that she employs about 15 remote workers at Point NorthEast, a factor that helped shape her decision. Diners can expect regular service through April 13, with final clean-up and sale preparations taking place once the restaurant closes.
A Local Mainstay
Trasca & Co takes its name and menu from a family recipe that traces back to a 1974 Colorado restaurant, and it grew into a women-owned neighborhood favorite after opening in 2015. Per the restaurant's website, the Panino sits at the heart of the menu, and the business collected a string of local "best of" honors over the years. For many in Ponte Vedra Beach, the closure will mean saying goodbye to a familiar community gathering spot.
Customers who want one last meal have until April 13 to stop in, with the public farewell set for April 11 and the equipment sale following the next week. Frasca said she has no regrets and sees closing Trasca as a completed chapter she brought to a successful end.
