Central Standard, the Milwaukee distillery behind the downtown Crafthouse & Kitchen, has quietly started pouring cocktails inside Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. The new Concourse C outpost brings the distillery's bar program into the terminal and will also offer bottles to go. Travelers passing through MKE can now find Central Standard's signature pours before boarding or after landing.
Small bar, big presence
The Concourse C venue occupies roughly 1,069 square feet and wraps 51 seats around a four-sided bar, according to Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport's news release. Central Standard says the space was developed with concessionaire SSP America and that its spirits will be represented across other airport bars and retail shops, per the distillery's announcement. Airport and distillery officials said the design aims to give arriving and departing passengers a welcoming, locally flavored option inside the terminal.
Opened ahead of a bigger expansion
As reported by Milwaukee Business Journal, the bar has begun serving cocktails this week, and the timing comes months before Central Standard's planned move to a much larger production and tasting facility on the Harley-Davidson campus. Local coverage has detailed the Harley campus project as a public-facing distillery and tasting operation meant to dramatically boost production capacity and add tours and events for visitors, as OnMilwaukee reports. The airport location gives the brand a traveler-facing touchpoint while that build-out proceeds.
What you'll be drinking
The distillery says the airport bar will pour signature cocktails made with its own spirits and will sell bottles to take away, according to Central Standard. That lineup includes staples like Red Cabin bourbon and occasional limited releases such as the single-barrel "Cabin Strength," a high-proof bottling local coverage has highlighted. Expect airport-friendly riffs on regional favorites alongside streamlined service built for travelers on the go.
Why it matters for MKE
Adding a recognizable local brand inside the terminal is part of MKE's broader effort to showcase homegrown food and drink options and to refresh concessions, airport officials said in their release. For a region that saw passenger traffic dip roughly 7% in 2025, per MKE traffic plunges 7 percent, the airport has been leaning on local operators to add distinctiveness and encourage more travelers to choose MKE. The Central Standard bar joins other recent concession upgrades aimed at giving the terminal a clearer Milwaukee identity.
Central Standard's Concourse C spot is now part of the airport's lineup, so travelers can look for the brand's logo near the gates and check local outlets for menu details and hours while the distillery completes its larger expansion projects.
