A 41-year-old Indian Head man was arrested last night after another driver reported that he pointed a handgun from his car while both were traveling near I-97 and Route 32 in Millersville. The other driver recorded the suspect's license plate and called 911, and officers later stopped the vehicle. Police say the suspect was taken into custody without incident and that a loaded handgun was recovered from the car.
How Officers Tracked the Prius Down
The victim told investigators the suspect, who was driving a blue Toyota Prius, pointed the gun at him at about 10:15 p.m. on March 31 and then kept going. Using the registration captured by the victim, officers, with help from the department's Real Time Information Center, located the Prius at Annapolis and Telegraph roads and arrested the driver without incident. Authorities say a loaded Glock 41 was recovered from the vehicle's glovebox, and the suspect was identified as 41-year-old Adam Weimer of Indian Head, as reported by FOX45.
What the Real Time Information Center Does
The county's Real Time Information Center (RTIC) combines license-plate readers, camera feeds, and analyst work to help patrol officers locate suspect vehicles and verify tips. Anne Arundel County Police have credited RTIC with quickly identifying vehicles in prior investigations, a capability the department highlighted in a recent press release. As outlined by Anne Arundel County Police, RTIC is intended to speed responses when callers provide identifying information.
Nearby Incidents and Police Warnings
Road-rage encounters that escalate into weapon incidents are not new to the area, and authorities warn that highway confrontations can turn dangerous. In November 2025, officers arrested a Glen Burnie man who allegedly drew a handgun during a dispute, and police recovered a 9mm firearm during that arrest. Local outlets and police consistently urge drivers to avoid engaging and to call 911, as reported by The BayNet.
Police did not immediately say whether charges had been filed in the case, FOX45 reported. Investigators ask anyone with information to contact the department's tip line at 410-222-4700; the number appears on the county's police press releases. We will update this story if county charging documents or an official release become available.
