A DeLand auto dealer is accused of turning consignment deals into a personal payday, with deputies saying he sold customer cars and never handed over the cash. The owner of Elite Motorcar LLC, 59-year-old Andrew Scott Jacobs, has been arrested on a first-degree felony charge of organized scheme to defraud.

As reported by Daytona Beach News-Journal, investigators identified four consignors and wrote in the arrest affidavit that Jacobs “engaged in a systematic, ongoing course of conduct with intent to defraud one or more persons.” The paper names Steven Ross, who says he was shorted $26,516.18 after consigning a 2005 Chevrolet Corvette, and Russell Erdmann, who was allegedly owed about $26,500 for a 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera. Two other victims listed in the report, Bruce Bridges and Arthur Fusco, say they were shorted roughly $4,493 and $1,718, respectively, after consigning Corvettes and a Chevrolet SSR.

Per WESH, detectives calculated total alleged losses at $80,628.25 and say the probe kicked off in November 2025 after an attorney raised concerns about unpaid consignments. The station also reports that state records show prior complaints against the dealership dating back to 2019, including title-transfer delays and other problems.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that in an April 2 interview Jacobs acknowledged selling vehicles on consignment and said he filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2024 and discharged some debts, although investigators say many of the questioned sales took place before that filing. Volusia County branch jail records show Jacobs was released on $75,000 bail, according to the paper.

What Investigators Allege

Detectives say records show Elite Motorcar received full payment for multiple vehicle sales but either underpaid consignors or failed to tell them when their cars were sold, which led to delayed or missing payouts. Investigators described a pattern in which sale proceeds were misapplied or withheld, and the case remains under active review by deputies.

Legal Next Steps

Jacobs is charged with a first-degree felony and is presumed innocent until proven guilty, as the case moves through the county court system. If investigators uncover additional evidence, prosecutors could seek more charges, and alleged victims may pursue civil claims for restitution while the criminal case plays out.

Anyone who consigned a vehicle to Elite Motorcar or believes they were affected is asked to contact the Volusia Sheriff's Office. The dealership's listed location is 1636 E New York Ave, DeLand, FL 32724.
