Frenchy's Chicken is officially headed to Pearland, with fresh signage now up at a North Main storefront naming the Houston-born chain as the next tenant. The new outpost is set to take over the former Oh My Tea space at 1909 N. Main St., giving neighbors another go-to for fried chicken, boudin and other Creole comfort dishes in a busy quick-serve strip. The company has not yet announced when the doors will open.
Signage at the site identifies Frenchy's as the incoming tenant and lists the address as 1909 N. Main St., and the official opening date has not been released, according to Community Impact.
What to Expect From the Menu
Frenchy's leans into New Orleans flavors, serving fried chicken meals and tender combos, boudin balls and rolls, and shrimp and fish plates, along with sides such as collard greens and dirty rice and desserts including peach cobbler and sweet potato pie, according to Frenchy's Chicken. The brand's locations page also lists multiple Greater Houston restaurants and several "coming soon" entries as Frenchy's continues expanding into nearby suburbs.
How the Space Became Available
The storefront opened up after bubble-tea shop Oh My Tea closed its Pearland location on Jan. 18, a company representative told Community Impact in March. That earlier report confirmed the shop had been operating at 1909 N. Main St. before shutting down in January.
Local Context
Frenchy's traces its roots to a Third Ward po-boy shop opened in 1969 and has spent decades growing across the Houston region. Local coverage has followed the chain's expansion and occasional franchise shake-ups, making a Pearland sign one more step in that long-running push, according to the Houston Chronicle. For shoppers and nearby workers along North Main, the arrival of a familiar regional name could mean steadier daytime traffic and another takeout option for families and office lunches.
