A homeowner in Granada Hills was jolted awake Thursday night by a phone alert after a security camera captured three people walking onto their property. The intruders allegedly used a crowbar to smash a rear window and get inside, prompting officers to respond to the 11900 block of Wood Ranch Road. No arrests were made, and investigators have not said whether anything was taken from the home.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the homeowner’s system sent over a clip of the break-in, and detectives are now reviewing surveillance video that shows part of the incident. LAPD has not released any suspect description as investigators continue to canvass the surrounding area.
Multiple Valley Break-In Cases In One Week
The Granada Hills call is at least the fourth burglary under investigation across the San Fernando Valley this week. CBS Los Angeles reported related break-ins in Valley Glen and Valley Village, while neighborhood coverage from masked burglar bolts says residents are trading alarm clips and boarding up windows as detectives work to determine whether the cases are connected.
Police Ask Neighbors To Check Cameras
Detectives say footage from doorbell and security cameras can be critical for identifying suspects and tying separate scenes together. The LAPD and LA Regional Crime Stoppers are urging residents to send in tips and video through official channels so investigators can follow up.
How Neighbors Are Responding
In the wake of the recent incidents, neighbors report boarding broken windows, sharing video clips and double-checking their alarm settings as an extra precaution. As overnight break-in spree reported, investigators are asking residents to review their recordings and contact detectives with anything that might help move the probe forward.
