Scene And Police Response
Police said the victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to a Metro Detroit hospital for treatment, ClickOnDetroit reported.

Anyone with tips is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department’s 10th Precinct or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, according to ClickOnDetroit.
Neighborhood Context
The shooting comes amid a tense spring on the west side, where residents say sirens, blocked streets and flashing lights have become a little too familiar. Police routinely canvass nearby blocks, pull surveillance footage, sift through ShotSpotter data and ask residents to check doorbell and dash-cam cameras as they reconstruct timelines of violent incidents. That broader pattern was highlighted in Hoodline coverage of the recent pattern of incidents.
How To Help Investigators
Detroit police are again turning to the community for help. Anyone with information or video related to the shooting is urged to call the Detroit Police 10th Precinct at (313) 596-5900 or submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP, according to the City of Detroit.
The city also operates an online tips and rewards portal where residents can upload footage and submit anonymous leads tied to active cases, City of Detroit officials note.
Investigators remained on scene into the evening, and the case is still active. No suspect description has been released by authorities, according to ClickOnDetroit. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
