
A 19-year-old Gulfport motorcyclist, Trevor Allen Fritz, died after a cargo van struck his bike at the intersection of 18th Avenue South and Quincy Street South in St. Petersburg late Sunday. Emergency crews took Fritz to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police say the van’s driver remained at the scene and is cooperating as investigators sort through what led up to the crash.
Crash details
According to the Tampa Free Press, the collision happened just before midnight as Fritz traveled east on 18th Avenue South riding a black 2020 Harley-Davidson Iron 1200. A silver 2018 Ram ProMaster 2500 cargo van attempted a left turn onto Quincy Street South and moved into the path of the oncoming motorcycle, resulting in a hard impact that left Fritz critically injured. First responders transported him to the hospital, where officials later confirmed he had died from his injuries.
