Milwaukee is starting the week on the sticky side, with low clouds, muggy air and morning temperatures in the low 60s. That warm, humid air will help push highs into the low 70s this afternoon. Southwest winds around 10–15 mph will add a bit of a breeze, and while the daytime hours look fine for outdoor plans, residents will want to keep an eye on radar later. Thunderstorms are possible after 9 p.m. and could hang around into Tuesday morning.
Afternoon: Breezy And Mild
This afternoon should feel like a classic spring warm-up: partly to mostly cloudy skies, a high near 72 and readings easing back into the mid 60s by evening. Southwest winds of about 10–15 mph may feel a little stronger near the lake, so conditions should be comfortable for outdoor plans, just a bit on the blustery side.
Storm Windows Tonight Through Thursday
Forecasters are tracking several windows for thunderstorms beginning tonight, with the most likely severe stretch running from mid evening into the early overnight hours, roughly 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Additional rounds are possible Tuesday through Thursday. The main concerns remain damaging straight-line winds and heavy downpours that could trigger localized flooding. Areas north of I-94 are highlighted as the highest short-term severe risk, although storms could still drift south.
According to the National Weather Service, river levels are expected to rise and flood potential will increase as rounds of heavy rain stack up over the next few days.
What To Do
Have a backup plan for tonight’s outdoor events and secure loose patio furniture before storms arrive. Avoid low-lying roads if heavy rain develops. Charge phones, keep an eye on local alerts, and if thunderstorms move in, head indoors and stay away from windows. Be ready for brief heavy downpours and gusty winds with any organized cluster of storms.
