An early morning raid by Sarasota County tactical teams on a Venice home ended with a local man in handcuffs and multiple electronic devices bagged up for forensic review, as investigators pursue a child sexual abuse material case tied to the property.
According to a news release from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, deputies served a search warrant at 4277 Lenox Blvd in Venice yesterday and identified Dylan C. Deputy, W/M, DOB: 03/08/03, as the suspect. The Sheriff’s Office says Deputy was arrested on four counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and was transported to the Sarasota County Correctional Facility. Officials reported that the search warrant was executed without incident and that digital forensics teams are continuing their work. Anyone with information was asked to contact the SCSO Investigations Bureau at 941-861-4900.
How the raid unfolded
As reported by the Tampa Free Press, the predawn operation pulled together the Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children unit, SWAT and other tactical teams to carry out the Lenox Boulevard warrant. The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office characterized the raid as "a collaborative effort" that resulted in the "removal of a dangerous offender from our community." On scene, deputies seized electronic devices for later analysis as investigators work to trace and catalogue any potentially illegal material.
Wider crackdown on online exploitation
The Venice case fits into a broader national push against online child exploitation. The FBI's 2025 "Operation Restore Justice" resulted in 205 arrests and 115 children rescued, underscoring how much these cases rely on joint work by federal, state and local agencies. According to the FBI, digital forensics and cooperation across multiple field offices are central to tracking offenders who store illicit material on multiple devices and cloud services. Florida's Department of Law Enforcement also maintains a cybercrime office that supports regional Internet Crimes Against Children task forces with tips, training and technical resources.
Legal process
The suspect faces four counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and remains in custody; an arrest is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. Under the Florida Legislature, multiple statutory sections address sexual performance by a child and the transmission or possession of child pornography, and those laws provide the framework prosecutors will use in charging decisions. According to Sarasota County prosecutors and detectives, digital forensics teams must first complete a detailed review of the seized devices before formal filings and potential sentencing ranges are determined.
